Is it safe for dogs, cats, and kids?
Yes, once the application has dried. We apply as a liquid, and until it dries we ask that pets and children stay off the treated areas. After that the yard is fine for normal use. Applications are made by TDA-licensed technicians and the products are EPA-registered.
How long does a yard flea and tick treatment last?
Each visit holds for several weeks, which is why the program runs on a repeating cycle rather than as a single spray. Eight treatments from March through October covers the full season; skipping the tail end of the year is how re-infestations start.
Does rain wash it off?
No, once it has dried. The product binds to the vegetation it lands on. A downpour immediately after an application is the one exception, and if that happens we come back and re-treat it.
Why doesn't the stuff from the hardware store work?
Two reasons. Consumer products have little residual, so they kill what they touch and stop. And most people only treat the open lawn, which is where fleas and ticks aren't. Without treating the harborage zones and repeating on a cycle, the population rebuilds within a couple of weeks.
Do I need this if I already treat my pet?
Pet treatments protect the animal, not the property. If the yard is producing ticks, your dog is still carrying them to the back door, and fleas are still cycling in the soil and mulch. The two work together.
